Dismissal Procedures 2018 ~ 2019

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

We kindly ask that any person picking up a child from our school remain outside the building until 2:45. All doors will remain locked until then. Students will dismiss at 2:45.

At dismissal, ALL pick-up children will move throughout the building to an assigned pick-up area (see areas below). Parents/guardians are asked to wait at their child’s designated pick-up area and not walk throughout our school building.

The following locations have been assigned as pick-up areas.

  • Kindergarten Area: parents/guardians are asked to wait by the exit at the end of our school building (located on Larkhall Street). This exit is closest to our Kindergarten classrooms. Please wait in the porch area and your child will be brought to this area for pick-up.

  • Grades 1 & 2 Area: parents/guardians are asked to wait in the main entrance of our school building (located on Larkhall Street). Please wait in the assigned porch area and your child will be brought to this area for pick-up.

  • Grade 3, 4 and 5 Area: parents/guardians are asked to enter and wait near the entrance located nearest to the gymnasium (on Vinnicombe Street). We strongly encourage gr.3-5 students to leave the building and meet their parent/guardian in the parking lot.

**All designated pick-up areas are easily identifiable and marked.

Please look for signage to ensure you are in the correct location**

Children being picked up by an after school provider are asked to go to the main office entrance.

Any parent/guardian who has more than one child attending school are asked to pick ALL children up at the area assigned to your youngest child.

We would also like to remind parents/guardians that you are free to use any entrance for DROP OFF in the morning (after our doors open at 8:30). Please kiss and hug your child at the entrance and let them proceed to their classroom independently. It is important that visitors NOT walk throughout our school building.

Once again, thank you for your patience and understanding. As always, we are looking out to the best interests of your child(ren).
