No School - Monday, June 15

School will be closed for students on Monday, June 15 for teacher Professional Learning Day.

No School Lunch - Thursday, June 11

Please note there is no hot lunch service on Thursday, June 11.  All students must bring lunch with them on that day. Please remember this must be a lunch that does not require heating.

The last day of school lunch service for this year will be on Friday, June 19.  All students must bring lunch with them during the last week of school, June 22 to June 25.

Last Day of School

The last day of school for this school year is Thursday, June 25. Students will be dismissed early on this day. Walkers and pick ups will be dismissed at 12:50 pm and buses will start their departures from school at 1:00pm.

Students are encouraged to bring an extra or larger snack for recess on Thursday as there will be no lunch period due to the early dismissal.  (Recess will be extended).

Are you moving?

Please email us larkhallacad@nlschools.ca and your child's teacher if you have already moved or will be moving over the summer and not returning to Larkhall Academy in September. 

If your family has relocated, we kindly ask that you provide us with your updated address. Even if you remain within our school's boundaries, this information is vital for organizing student transportation for September and ensuring your child is placed on the appropriate bus route.

For those who have moved outside our school zone, please contact your child’s new zoned school to complete their registration for the upcoming school year. NLSchools policy, students are required to register and attend the school assigned to their zone. This requirement ensures access to all entitled services, including busing. Furthermore, attending their local neighborhood school allows children to build lasting friendships and play with peers in their own community.

KinderStart 2026-2027/ Kindergarten 2027

Online registration for KinderStart 2026 / Kindergarten 2027 for schools in the St. John's Metro Region, including Larkhall Academy, is postponed until September

Pride Month

Across Canada, June is recognized as Pride Month. It’s a time to celebrate love and inclusivity, and for the global LGBTQIA+ community to embrace who they are.  To learn more check out Pride Season on the Government of Canada Website.

June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada

This is an opportunity to learn about the unique cultures, traditions and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis. It's a time to honor the stories, achievements and resilience of Indigenous Peoples, who have lived on this land since time immemorial and whose presence continues to impact the evolving Canada. The House of Commons designated June as National Aboriginal History Month in 2009. The name was changed to National Indigenous History Month in 2017.  Click here to learn more.
