Weather Closures

Please note, that NLSchools makes the decision to close schools, including Larkhall Academy, in the St. John’s Metro Region if weather conditions warrant. This decision is made by 6:00 am and communicated to schools. We will then advise families, via email, our website and on BlueSky.  All local radio stations will also announce school closures. You can check school open / closed status at any time on the NLSchools website by clicking the red Status button in the lower right corner or by following this link. 

Welcome Back

Happy New Year! We hope you all had a restful, joyful, and safe Christmas / Winter break filled with special moments with family and friends.

As we open our doors for the start of 2026 there is a sense of excitement in the air. The transition back to school after the holidays is always a unique time—a chance to reconnect with friends, dive back into our favorite subjects, and set new goals for the months ahead.

Our dedicated Larkhall teachers and staff are eager to welcome your children back and look forward to the weeks and months ahead.

February Lunch Ordering 

The School Lunch Association ordering for February, opens on Tuesday, January 6th. All February lunches must be ordered by Wednesday, January 14th. We encourage all families to review the menu items with your child to ensure they like and will eat the items that are ordered. 

Bus Stop - Winter Safety Tips
Please review the following winter bus stop safety tips with your child. 

Grade 3 and 4 Soccer resumes Wednesday, January 14th

For those families who participate in the after school soccer program please note that it will now take place on Wednesday evening. This was communicated to families prior to the break. Please note we did indicate that it would resume on January 7th however this has been moved to January 14th at the following times:  

Grade Three - 5:30 - 6:30 

Grade Four  - 6:30 - 7:30

KinderStart Sessions

Due to Kinderstart there will be no school for Kindergarten students only on the following dates:

Friday, January 23

Friday, February 20

Friday, March 27

Friday, May 8

Please note there is school for students in Grades 1-4 on these dates.
